Obituary of Arnold Purciello

Arnold Purciello, age 94, of Bridgeport, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 with family and friends by his side. Born in Bridgeport on February 14, 1922, he was a son of the late Bartolomeo and Lucia Purciello. Arnold was employed by the Commercial Shirt Factory as well as the City of Bridgeport Finger Print and Municipal Parking Division. He was always active and enjoyed walking six to seven miles a day, while stopping to visit his pals at Nicks (Lou’s) store and Sorrento Importing. Survivors include his son Robert Purciello, daughter-in-law Terri, granddaughters Angela and Alena, a host of nieces and nephews, and his niece and caregiver, Rita Broderick. In addition to his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his brothers, Domenick, Stephen, Thomas and Phillip, and his sisters Sandra, Lucille, and Marie. The family would like to thank the VNS, especially Doreen Patel, Dorothy Royes, Peter Jeffrey and Deacon Steve for his spiritual support, as well as a special thanks to Barbara Broderick for the wonderful care given to Arnold during his time of need. The family is also thankful to each of the Truman street residents for their many kindnesses and help. Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Avenue, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
