Obituary of Vincent A. Grillo

Vincent Anthony Grillo, age 81, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2016. He was born July 23, 1934 in Hamden, one of three children of the predeceased Emilio and Rose Grillo. He was the cherished husband of his late wife, the beloved Alice Williams Grillo, and caring brother of Abele Grillo and his wife Frances, and the late Rocco Grillo and his wife Elizabeth. Vincent was a graduate of West Haven High School, and received a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Secondary School Administration from the University of Connecticut. Vincent was Professor Emeritus at Norwalk Technical College, the former Director of Admissions, and an educator of mathematics and sciences for over 45 years. He served with distinction as the President of Connecticut's AFSCME and AFT. Vincent was dedicated to his academic career and to his home and family, and also specialized in renovation and new construction. A generous person with witty humor, Vincent will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. He leaves behind his son Vincent Grillo Jr. and wife Patti of Avon; his daughter Cathy Taylor and husband Tom of Trumbull; and his daughter Susan Reynolds and husband Michael of Guilford; 8 adored grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. A gathering in celebration of Vincent's life will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Trumbull Congregational Church.
