Obituary of Domenica Mastronardi- Trovini
Mrs. Domenica Mastronardi-Trovini of Milford, age 93, entered peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, April 10, 2016 with her daughters by her side. Domenica was a beloved loving wife of 70 years to the late Furio Trovini-Bonomo. She was born February 16, 1923 in Torrice, Province of Frosinone, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Ernesto and Angela Zirizzotti-Mastronardi. Domenica "Mimmina" was a woman of uncommon generosity, great dignity, profound depth and gentle strength. She provided comfort and care to her family, with her largest sacrifice being the pursuit of a new life in another country, here in America.
Her number one priority throughout her life was the well-being, health and education for her grandchildren. She lived her life with great integrity and pride. She will be missed by her daughters who loved her so very much. Domenica was a strong, loving, devoted wife, a model mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed having family and friends to her home, even if just to have a cup of coffee or talk about the old country that she loved so much.
As a child, she loved reading, embroidering and gardening. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved to cook. She was deeply religious and very committed to her Roman Catholic faith, being an avid parishioner of San Rocco in Ripi, San Sebastian in Torrice and St. Ann in Milford.
Domenica was especially famous for her homemade pasta, pizza and bread, a tradition she crafted from her family in Torrice and Ripi, Italy. While in America, Mrs. Trovini-Bonomo was employed by Schick Lambert in Milford.
She was the third child of six sisters and one brother. She was predeceased by her sisters, Italia in Testa, Frosinone, Antonia in Fiacco, Torrice, Elvira in De Santis, Torrice, Italy. She is survived by sisters, Rachele in Arduini, Toronto, Emilia in Fini, Torrice, a brother, Umberto Mastronardi, Torrice, Italy and a sister in law, Nella Trovini-Bonomo. In addition to her family that she loved so much, she is survived her loving and devoted daughters; Rossana Trovini- Picarazzi and her husband Luigi of Stratford as well as Maria Teresa Trovini-Savone and her husband Ugo of Milford; five cherished grandchildren, Philip Picarazzi and his wife Laura of Ansonia, Angela Pitcher and her husband Charles of Trumbull, Frank Picarazzi and his wife Elizabeth of Brooklyn, Furio Savone and his wife Lisa of Westport, and Emilio Savone and his wife Ankara of New York, NY, six wonderful great-grandchildren, Charles, Jonathan and Emily Pitcher, Lydia Picarazzi and Stella and Leonardo Savone. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews in Italy, United States and Canada.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Milford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.
