Obituary of Antonio N. Moura

Antonio N. Moura, age 92, of Trumbull, CT, devoted husband of Teresinha (Xavier) Moura, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Nogueira de Boticas, Portugal on December 25, 1933, he was the son of the late Silvestre and Maria (Ferreira do Cruzeiro) de Moura and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

In addition to his beloved wife Teresinha of 68 years, he also leaves to cherish his memory a loving daughter, Maria Decerbo and her husband Paul, two beloved grandsons, Paul Christopher Decerbo and his wife Dr. Clara Decerbo and Antonio James Decerbo, and two cherished great grandchildren, Teresa Joy Decerbo and Oliver Lee Decerbo as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Silvestre Moura and two sisters, Aida De Fonte and America Gomes.

In 1959, he immigrated to the United States with his wife, Teresinha, and their newborn daughter, Maria, determined to build a better future for his family.

Antonio spent two decades working in construction, possessing an intuitive talent for mechanical work, he later found great satisfaction as a gas turbine engine mechanic at Stratford's Avco Lycoming, presently Honeywell Aerospace from where he retired.

Throughout his life, there was rarely a repair he could not tackle. Whether helping family and friends, Antonio was always willing to lend a hand and share his skills.

He was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Bridgeport, CT in charge for a number of years of fund raising activities.

An avid gardener, Antonio took great pride in cultivating his garden and was especially known for producing some of the finest tomatoes, season after season. His quiet strength, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Antonio's family will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose kindness, wisdom, and example will continue to guide them. A remarkable man, he will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd, Bridgeport. Entombment will take place in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
