Obituary of Raymond E. Franko

Longtime Trumbull Resident Raymond E. Franko, age 77, of Oxford and formerly of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Marie Sedita Franko, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 28, 1936 in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna Petro Franko. Before his retirement he was a supervisor with the former Southern New England Telephone Co. with over 32 years of service. He graduated from Fairfield Prep in 1954 and was a proud United States Marine Corp Veteran. Ray was a lifetime member and volunteer at the Nichols Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as a past Lieutenant and Treasurer. He was an avid fisherman, a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan but most of all loved Sunday afternoons with his family and his dogs. Survivors include his devoted children, James J. Franko and his wife Debbie of Shelton, Elise Franko of Trumbull and Raymond F. Franko and his wife Jennifer of Trumbull, his loving grandchildren, Ashley, Vicki and Billy Bresnahan and Troy and Brett Franko, a brother, Joseph Franko, five sisters, Pauline Lavin, MaryAnne Gregory, Elizabeth Kubicko, Dorothy Lavin and Rosalie Andrechak as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Samsel. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Constellation Hospice, especially Juliet, for her dedicated care and compassion. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull.
