Obituary of Irene Betlinski

Irene Vargo Betlinski, age 85, of Orange, beloved wife of the late Leon Betlinski, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on May 24, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Jennie Jakubik Vargo. Irene was a secretary at Prudential Insurance Co. in Bridgeport for many years before she devoted many years to the loving care of her family. She was a former parishioner of St. Agnes Church in Woodmont. Irene was an avid fan and enjoyed watching the N.Y. Yankees where she could be heard yelling at the TV. She cherished the time she spent playing cards and board games with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Laura Betlinski Albert. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Eberts of Trumbull, a son, Michael Betlinski and his wife Lisa of CA, a brother, Andrew Vargo and his wife Joan of Orange, two sisters, Margaret Vargo and Jennie Vargo both of Bridgeport, seven grandchildren, Michael DiLella, Joseph DiLella and his fiance Jennifer, Nicholas Eberts and his wife Christy, Brian Eberts, Mary Eberts Thornton and her husband Brian, Alex Betlinski and Christine Betlinski, nine great grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas, Eden, Adam, Adrianna, Anthony, Ella, Alexandra and Michael as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
