Obituary of William J. O'Donnell

William J. O'Donnell, age 82, of Shelton, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Rose M. Saccone O'Donnell. Born in Bridgeport on December 23, 1930, he was a son of the late William and Elsie Takacs O'Donnell, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. William was the retired operator and owner of Seaman's Pharmacy of Monroe. A graduate of Bassick High School, he was a pitcher of their baseball team, and he also enjoyed bowling and yard work. Bill also found great enjoyment attending his granddaughter's basketball games. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his beloved wife Rose of 61 years, survivors include his daughters, Kim Dorsey and her husband Rex of Monroe, Lyn Abriola and her husband Mark of Monroe and Lori Cascone and her husband Joe of Meriden, his loving granddaughter Shea, his brother in law, Pete Saccone and his wife Connie of Monroe, a brother, John O'Donnell and his wife Bonnie of Florida, and his sisters, Catherine LaFrance of East Haven, Carol LeBlanc and her husband Lester of Florida, Elsie Brunswick and her husband Gilbert of Shelton and Mary Mikita and her husband Donald of Newtown. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Charles O'Donnell and a sister, Shirley Marchetti. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. Donations Information
