Obituary of Angela Corso Fedak

Newtown Resident Angela Marie Corso Fedak, widow of her beloved Joseph Fedak, died on December 31, 2011 at Danbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on September 9, 1928 to the late John H. and Rachael R. (Jenecaro) Corso in Bridgeport, CT. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her two brothers, twins John (Jack) of Danbury and Russell of Hamden. Angie is survived by her beloved son, John Fedak and his wife Cara, of Sandy Hook, with whom she lived. She also leaves her beloved grandsons, Joseph and Dominick. In addition, she leaves her brothers-in-law Gene Fedak (Martha) of Monroe, CT and Paul Fedak (Eileen) from Tuscarora, PA. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Among her extended family, she was particularly close to her cousins, Angela (Sis) Galli and Linda Jenecaro. She considered herself blessed to have several lifelong friends, including Emily Golightly; Betsy Myer; Lorraine Tobin; and Gladys Imbro. Angela worked for the City of Bridgeport as an emergency operator for 24 years. She finished first on the civil service list for the new ERS Center in 1964. After her retirement, she worked for Cendant Corp. for 15 yrs. Angie was a woman of great faith. She was a church organist for over 55 years in Bridgeport and the surrounding area. She also volunteered to play at several nursing homes, as well as the weddings of several of her nieces and nephews and their childrens weddings. Her great passions were for directing variety shows; tap dancing; theater, and working on many events for the Barnum Festival in Bridgeport. She was delighted to be named Marshall of the Parade of Champions in 1977, and in 1986 she was Executive Aide to Elizabeth Pfriem, Ringmaster. She was proud to have been named Volunteer of the Year in 1983. She was also a member of the Yankee Maids Barber Shop group in lower Fairfield County. For the last four years, she was actively involved with the Newtown Senior Center. Angie was a woman who loved to laugh, and could regale you with a story or joke at the drop of a hat. She was a genuinely kind woman who remembered everyones birthday; their childrens names and birthdays; and when and how they became friends. She leaves a legacy of love and laughter. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery.
