Obituary of Daniel J. Papcin

Corrections Officer Daniel J. Papcin, age 46, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Lisa Skudlarek Papcin, died suddenly on Thursday, February 28, 2008 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on September 18, 1961, he was a son of Deborah Fitzgerald of Shelton and Frank Papcin of Virginia. A U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, he was an employee for 17 years for the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections, working at the Bridgeport Correctional Center. He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1980. Dan was an avid softball player competing on many championship teams throughout the area. He also enjoyed competing in many billiards leagues. Dan was a loving husband, father, son and brother and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife and parents survivors include two cherished children, Daniel Jr., and Ashley, a brother, David Papcin and his wife Sharon of Ansonia, his mother in law Barbara Skudlarek of Trumbull, father in law John Skudlarek of Beacon Falls and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday March 5, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information Memorial donations may be made to the family for a fund to be established for the benefit of Daniels children.
