Obituary of Nelly M. Perez

Resident of Bridgeport Nelly M. Perez, age 63, of Bridgeport, died on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at her home. Born in Quito, Ecuador on March 31, 1948, she was a daughter of Jorge and Laura Perez of Bridgeport. Nelly went to elementary school in Quito, Ecuador called La Escuela de Ninas Rosa Zarate. She graduated from the Academy Eva Pero where she majored in the business of clothing design. Her biggest dream was to come to the United States and after many struggles it came true. She arrived here in 1973 and has lived here in Bridgeport since, in the city that she considered her second home. She worked very hard with the ultimate goal to bring her parents, brothers and sisters to the United States. A dream that was accomplished with a lot of love and after many years of suffering, of being on her own and fighting for her family, whom she considered her very own children. It was a worthwhile sacrifice, because due to her incredible fight and love she was able to see her family grow into what they are now, a very loving and united family. She was the matriarch of this family. In addition to her loving parents Jorge and Laura, survivors include four brothers, Jaime Perez and his wife Eunice, Mario Perez and his wife Mary, Oswaldo Perez, all of Bridgeport and Freddy Perez and his wife Brenda of Trumbull, five sisters, Laura Quito and her husband Arturo, Silvia Macias and her husband Ruben, Paulina Torres and her husband Edwin, all of Bridgeport, Patricia Paulo and her husband Anibal of Trumbull and Elsa Tello and her husband Freddy of Bridgeport, sister-in-law, Dora Perez and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Jorge Perez. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
