Obituary of Daniel E. Gabriele

Dr. Daniel E. Gabriele, age 94, of Stratford and formerly of Trumbull, died on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at St. Vincents Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on January 26,1919, he was a son of the late Joseph and Nicolina Gallo Gabrielle. A member of the Warren Harding High School Class of 1936, Dr. Gabriele went on to graduate from the Connecticut College of Pharmacy in 1940 and in 1950 from the University of Maryland College of Dental Surgery, where he was a member of the Psi Omega Fraternity. A U.S. Army veteran, he served as a surgical technician in the European Theatre from 1941 through 1945. Dr. Gabriele opened his dental practice in 1950, where he worked until his retirement. Throughout his career he formed many relationships and friendships with his colleagues and patients; he will be missed by all. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris McEnerney Gabriele, a son, John F. Gabriele and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include a son, Daniel E. Gabriele Jr. of New York City and three nieces, Mary M. Deming, Bernadette Gabriele and Joan Ripke. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment with military honors will follow in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
