Obituary of Philip J. Prusasky

Philip J. Prusasky, age 89, beloved husband of Rita Nemec Prusasky of Trumbull, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Ludlowe Center in Fairfield surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on February 25, 1924, he was a son of the late Philip I. and Helen Samorczyk Prusasky. Mr. Prusasky was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. Philip was a letter carrier with the United States Post Office with over 30 years of service and the owner of Phils Signs for many years before his retirement. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his wife Rita of 66 years, survivors include his children, Doris DelVecchio and her husband John of Stratford, Michael Prusasky and his wife Elaine of Trumbull, Diane DeMattia and her husband Tony of Fairfield, Karen Hutchinson and her husband Donald of Monroe, nine grandchildren, Doreen Haas and her husband Michael, John DelVecchio and his wife Maria, Anthony DelVecchio and Cheryl Brown, Sarah and Lisa Prusasky, Michele Scholz and Stephen, Jennifer DeMattia, Brooke Hutchinson and Chad Cornut, Brittany Hutchinson and Jeffrey Blees, nine great grandchildren, Charlotte and Christian Haas, Daniel and David DelVecchio, Stephen, Juliana, Trevor and William Scholz, Emily Cornut as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Prusaczyk, a sister, Mildred Prusasky, a grandson, Donald P. Hutchinson and twin great grandchildren, Hailey and Cameron Scholz. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, St. Monica Mausoleum, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
