Obituary of George J. Roman

George J. Roman Jr., age 84, beloved husband of Antoinette Ferraro Roman of Seymour, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on April 15, 1929, he was a son of the late George J. Roman, Sr. and Lucy Babich Roman. Mr. Roman was a United States Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 24 of Derby. Before his retirement, he was an Engineer at Avco Lycoming with over 35 years of service. George was an avid golfer and horseshoe player who enjoyed spending winters in Tucson, AZ, and most of all cherished the time spent with his family. In addition to his wife of 62 years, survivors include his loving daughters, Linda Colon Mauro and her husband Tony of Bridgeport, Mary Pereira and her husband Manuel of Seymour, Kathleen Jones of Oxford, and Annette Morrison and her husband Jonathan of Hebron; a brother, Jim Roman and his wife Beth of Bethany; sisters, Barbara Williams and her husband Gus of Derby, and Judy Giannettio of Yalesville. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Eric, Angelo and Anthony Colon, James Morrison, Danielle and Krista Pereira, and Lauren Jones, Samantha Morrison and RJ Jones, five beloved great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Edward Roman. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St Margaret Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
