Obituary of Lucia M. Romano

Dedicated Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Lucia (Lucy) Cominelli Romano, age 90, of Hamden and formerly of Monroe, beloved wife of the late John C. Romano, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in St. Marys Hospital, Waterbury. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 21, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Bartolomea Poloni Cominelli. She was an employee for many years in the marking room at the former D. M. Reads. She was a very loving and caring women who always put the love and care of her family first. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be deeply missed. Survivors include a son, John P. Romano and his wife Elaina of Arlington, VA, a daughter, Anita M. Donovan of Cheshire, three sisters, Angelina Burout of Huntington, Jennie Garofalo of Milford and Rita Gianonni of Winter Park, FL, three grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Orquidea, Casey and his wife Heather and Shaun, great grandchildren, Evan, Mia, Aryana, Sofia, Jose Antonio, Adriana, Nylah and Serina as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her extended family at Arden Courts of Hamden and the Vitas Unit at St. Marys Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Lucia. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
