Obituary of Filomena M. Rummo

Loving Mother and Grandmother Filomena (Faye) M. Rummo, age 91, of Orange passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving daughters by her side. She was the beloved wife, for 50 years, of the late Leonard M. Rummo. Born May 25, 1922 in Waterbury, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Anna Accetturo Rummo. Faye was a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft with 23 years of dedicated service in the blade and R&D departments. She was a member of both the Sikorsky Garden Club and Retiree Club. Faye loved the theater and was a member of the Square One Theater, where she served as Hospitality Chairperson. She was a past member of the Holy Rosary Ladies Guild and the Bridgeport YMCA. Faye, at the young age of 70 years old, became an avid bowler and learned to play golf. Faye loved people, she loved to cook and entertain and was always the life of the party. She found great enjoyment traveling the world with her husband. She enjoyed telling her old family stories to her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. And, she would never turn down the occasion to enjoy a Brandy Alexander. But above all she was a loving mother and grandmother who put the needs of her family before her own, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her devoted daughters, Donna Yasick and her husband Joe of Woodbridge and Renae Rummo of East Haven, three granddaughters, Nina Yasick, Kami Bernier and her husband Matthew and Gina Diaz and her husband Marcos, two great grandchildren, Matthew and Katherine Bernier. She was predeceased by a son, Leonard D. Rummo and her sisters, Josephine Savastano, Yolanda Cotela and Marie (Micki) Fiorini. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, many good friends and a daughter-in-law. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
