Obituary of Anna J. Gargano

Trumbull Resident Anna Benedetto Gargano, age 95, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Joseph Gargano, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Carolton Chronic Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on June 24, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Vito and Erminia Gallucci Benedetto. Anna enjoyed visiting the casinos, making great dinners for the holidays, and producing everyones favorite meatballs and macaroni with her delicious gravy. Her greatest joy was spending time her family. She was a member of the St. Raphael and St. Margaret Shrine Altar Guild. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Carolton Chronic & Convalescent Hospital for the care and compassion extended to Anna and the family over her four years there. Survivors include a son, Joseph Gargano Jr. and his wife Anne of Newtown, a daughter, Mary Fogel and her husband Sheldon of Southport, a brother, William Benedetto of Trumbull, four grandchildren, Joseph (Jay) Gargano III, Meghan Balliett and her husband Whitney, Jenna Harar and her husband Joseph, Ali Fogel, a great grandson, Charlie Harar, and two sisters-in-law, Joan Benedetto and Ellen Gargano as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Louis, Bartholomew, Joseph, Sylvester, Dominick, Ernest, Michael, Anthony and John Benedetto and sisters, Teresa Capozzi and Florence Riccio. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.
