Obituary of Mary Savino

Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother Mary Savino, 86, originally from Bridgeport, CT, passed away on December 11, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on October 10, 1926, Mary was the daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth Timothy, both originally from Roscommon, Ireland. Mary graduated with a nursing degree from St. Vincents Nursing School. She worked for the City of Bridgeport for 25 years as a public health nurse. In 2006, Mary moved to Alexandria, VA to be closer to her children, whom all reside there. A lifelong Catholic, Mary was active in St. Andrews Parish. Everyone who knew her knew of her keen interest in baking and enjoyed her many dishes. She also enjoyed swimming weekly at the Eisenhower Center. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family and their care. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 41 years, Patrick Savino and her daughter, Patricia Juchniewicz. Survivors include her three other children; Catherine Savino, Thomas Savino and Mary Savino, all of Alexandria, VA, and her four grandchildren, William, Sophia, Victor and Evening. She is also survived by her two sisters, Margaret of Trumbull, CT and Catherine of Jupiter FL. Funeral Information A Memorial Service celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport, CT. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
