Obituary of Elma V. Shaw

Elma Vioris Shaw, age 80, of Trumbull, a retired employee of the Bassick Co., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in St. Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica on January 13, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William and Victoria Adair Shakes. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who always put the needs of her family before her own. She will be sadly missed.

Survivors include two sons, Leroy Shaw of Trumbull and Sydney Shaw and his wife Jeanine of Macungie, PA, a brother, Harry Shakes of Winter Park, FL, a sister, Lorell Shakes of London, England, seven grandchildren, William, Sydney Jr., David, Kimberly, Michael, Jamal and Tiffany, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Lillieth Shaw, a sister, Lily DiSesa and a brother Sydney Shakes. 

Funeral services will take place on Saturday April 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Episcopal Church, 5958 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
