Obituary of Eleanor M. Stravecky

Stratford Resident Eleanor M. Fox Stravecky, age 80, beloved wife of Stephen Stravecky of Stratford died on Friday, April 26, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on May 5, 1932, she was a daughter of the late George and Rose Cavanagh Fox. Before her retirement Eleanor was employed at the former Southern New England Telephone Co. with over 10 years of service. She was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Church for 60 years and involved in the Marion Guild where she served as president. Most of her life was spent volunteering for many charitable organizations and was most recently knitting shawls for cancer patients. Eleanor was dedicated to taking care of her family and her husband and her greatest joys in life were her eight grandchildren. In addition to her husband Stephen of 60 years, survivors include a son, Tom Stravecky of Florida, three daughters, Lynn Stravecky of Puerto Rico, Nancy Barone and her husband Chris of Trumbull, Michelle Starkey and her husband Rich of Stratford, a sister, Beverly Curley of Bridgeport, eight grandchildren, Stephen Barone and his wife Jen, Andrew, Kenneth and James Barone, Jessica and Peter Rocafort-Stravecky, Allyson and Richard Starkey as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother George Fox. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
