Obituary of Mary Ann Szobocsan

Resident of Bridgeport Mary Ann Szobocsan, age 66, of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on July 25, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Barbara Kovacs Szobocsan. She was a bookkeeper for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Co. and was previously employed by Welner Insurance Company and Gleason Jewelers. She served on the Board of Directors at Candlelite Terrace Condominium and was a member of their Garden Club. Survivors include her wonderful companion of 24 years, Frank DAusilio of Bridgeport, a sister in law, Judy Szobocsan of Bonita Springs, FL, nieces, Barbara Fox and Pat Dewitt of Sun City, AZ, Margaret DeMeo of Bridgeport, Judy Szabocsan of Collingdale, PA and Karen Matyjasik of Ocala, FL, nephews, Michael Szabocsan of Danbury and Bobby Szabocsan of Mocksville, NC, her neighbor, Chris Utecht and dear friends, Kay Blumhardt and Rocco Nucera and her beloved cat, Penny. She was pre-deceased by three sisters, Anna Baquero and her husband, Manuel, Barbara Chandler and her husband, Ray and Margaret Eastwood, two brothers, Frank and John Szabocsan and a great niece, Barbara DeMeo. Funeral Information Family and Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport on Monday, February 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours.
