Obituary of Louis A. Ceccorulli

U.S. Navy Veteran Louis A. Ceccorulli, age 87, of Hamden and formerly of Bridgeport, died of mesothelioma on Sunday, August 1, 2010. Born in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Marino and Mary Pesaresi Ceccorulli and was a graduate of Central High School. He served in the US Navy during WWll. Lou had owned and operated the Ceccorulli School of Music and retired from the City of Bridgeport. He also attended Southern Connecticut State College for sculpting, and his sculpture of a mother and child hangs at the maternity ward in St. Vincent Medical Center. Surviviors include his wife of 66 years, Irma Francoletti Ceccorulli, his son, Mark Ceccorulli and wife Francesca of Hamden, two grandchildren, Attorney Michael Ceccorulli of New York and Andrew Ceccorulli of New Haven, two sisters, Virginia Spataro of Shelton and Theresa Curiale of Florida as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Carlo and Nello Ceccorulli. Mrs. Ceccorulli would like to extend special thanks to her son, Mark and his wife Francesca who spent countless hours every day attending to all his needs. Lou called them His Angels. The family would like to thank the staff at Yale New Haven Hospital, Dr. Daniel Boffa, Dr Tanoue, Dr. Lawrence Soloman and Leslie Blatt R.N. and especially his oncologist Dr. Scott Gettinger and the care givers from CT Hospice Home Care. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 11 A.M. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Private entombment will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Thursday morning after 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Smilow Cancer Center, Yale New Haven Research Center.
