Obituary of Marie Centopani

Marie Salinardi Centopani, age 108, of Stratford, a homemaker, died on Monday, July 16, 2007 in Cambridge Manor. Born in Ruoti, Province of Potenza, Italy on February 19, 1899, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Rose Schivone Salinardi. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting blankets for her friends and family.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Centopani Sr., a daughter, Lucy Panther and a grandson, James Epifano Jr.

Survivors include four daughters, Rose Turco and her husband, Thomas Sr. of Stratford, Gloria Carbone of Bridgeport, Margaret Epifano and her husband James of Trumbull, Josephine Penny Murphy of Trumbull, three sons, Nicholas Centopani of Bridgeport, William Centopani Jr. and his wife Stella of New Mexico, and Anthony Centopani and his wife Judy of Shelton, 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Cambridge Manor for the wonderful care they provided. 

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
