Obituary of Frank G. Cerminara

Frank G. Cerminara, age 69, beloved husband of Filomena (Mena) Mercuri Cerminara, of Bridgeport died on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at St. Vincents Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born on July 10, 1944, in Platania, Calabria, Italy, he was a son of the late Raffaele and Rosaria Cerminara. Frank came to the U.S. in 1957 with his mother and four siblings. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and a qualified sharpshooter. He was in the food service business starting with Bill Marino Banquets, Rotary Diner, Blue Sky Diner, Sandwich Barn, Fayerweather Yacht Club and Whites Diner. Frank was currently employed by Curtin Livery and FCC Security. He was a life member of Harris Roger VFW Post #145 and was an avid bowler. In addition to Mena, his beloved wife of 42 years, survivors include a son, Ralph Cerminara and his wife Denise of Derby, a brother, Greg Cerminara and his wife Linda of Shelton, three sisters, Marie Preteska and her husband Edward of Waterbury, Antoinette Bonadio and her husband Ted of Shelton and Joanne DiScala and her husband Robert of Trumbull, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Luigi (Lou) Cerminara. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull with his brother, Greg officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery of Easton. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
