Obituary of Louis W. Cesero

Trumbull Resident CESERO- Louis W. Cesero, age 89, of Trumbull, a retired employee of Dupont and Peoples Bank, died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on September 29, 1921, he was a son of the late Angelo and Giovanna DAgostino Cesero. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he served from the summer of 1942 to November of 1945. He fought in Italy and Africa. He was wounded in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was one of only ten men to survive a mission from a company of 200. Mr. Cesero was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed watching baseball with his son Louie and son-in-law, Glenn, and playing catch with his grandsons, Benjamin and Kenan. He got great pleasure from watching his granddaughters dance. He will be fondly remembered for his kind and gentle nature. He will be sadly missed. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Rose Marie DeFeo Cesero, five children, Theresa Way and her husband Paul of Naples, FL, Anthony DAndrea of Derby, twins Deborah McGuigan and her husband Patrick of Trumbull and Kimberly Plitnick and her husband Glenn of Trumbull and Louis W. Cesero II and his wife Amra of Ansonia, daughter-in-law Ginny DAndrea of Seymour, nine grandchildren Alicia DAndrea, Anthony DAndrea, Michael McGuigan, Bailey McGuigan, Kayla Plitnick, Brooke Plitnick (who shared a birthday with her grandfather), Morgan Plitnick, Benjamin Cesero and Kenan Cesero, two great grandchildren, Julia and Abigail as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by brothers, Anthony, Angelo Jr., Patrick, William, Carmine and James Cesero and sisters, Catherine Crudele, Sarah Naples, Celia Farino and Mary Florentino, as well as a brother Joseph and a sister Catarina Cesero, both of whom died in infancy. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Maefair Health Care Center for their caring and compassion. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
