Obituary of Anthony S. Chmielewski

Lifelong Trumbull Resident Anthony S. Chmielewski, age 81, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Norma (Elliott) Chmielewski, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 16, 2013. He was born on October 30, 1931 in Trumbull to the late Stefan and Stella Szandrowska Chmielewski and was a lifelong Trumbull resident. A graduate of Warren Harding High School, Tony was a proud U.S. Navy veteran serving his country from 1952-1954. Tony was the maintenance supervisor for the Trumbull Public Schools for 32 years before his retirement. He was a Master Carpenter and in his retirement enjoyed building and carpentry work. He was a member of the Trumbull High School Building Committee, The Trumbull Parks and Recreation Commission, the Christ the King Building Commission where he was a dedicated parishioner. He was also a former volunteer of the Long Hill Fire Department and member of the VFW Post 141 of Trumbull. He will always be remembered for his strong will, hard work ethic and his willingness to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He along with his wife also enjoyed spending time with all their many local friends, along with friends at the lake house in MA. Survivors include, a son, Steven (Maeci) Chmielewski, a daughter, Susan (Bruce) Collins, four grandchildren, Sara and Dana Chmielewski and Daniel and Jennifer Collins, a brother, Henry Mileski of Shelton, a sister Helen Pollock of FL, a brother-in-law, Clarence Heimann of FL along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished life-long friends. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Anthonys life. Entombment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
