Obituary of Craig F. Avery

Craig F. Avery, age 70, beloved husband of Antoinette (Toni) Amoroso Avery, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on December 16, 1943, he was a son of the late Raymond and Frances Southard Avery. Mr. Avery was a retired CEO and President of Avery Abrasives. Craig was a baseball and football coach for many years in the greater Bridgeport area, known as Coach to many, he could always be found at many area little league and American Legion baseball games. However, he truly enjoyed watching his son play in his sporting games and coaching baseball. Craig was an avid New York Giants and Yankees fan. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Tashua Knolls Country Club, D. Fairchild Wheeler Golf Club and the Brownson Country Club. But above all, Craig was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who deeply cared for his family and will forever be missed. In addition to his beloved wife Toni of 45 years, survivors include a loving son, Keith Avery and his wife Danielle of Milford, a daughter, Darlene Dennis and her husband Buddy of GA, three cherished grandchildren, Emma Rose, Austin and Madison, a great grandson, Daxton, a brother, Raymond A. Avery of Fairfield, a sister, Cheryl Kellogg of Newtown, as well as many nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday January 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
