Obituary of America Gomes

America Moura Gomes, age 93, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Jacinto Gomes, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 in Ludlowe Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Plymouth, MA on April 27, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Silvestre and Marie Ferreira Moura. Mrs. Gomes was a housekeeper for many years at the Dinan Memorial Center before her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, baking and catering to her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very spiritual person who will be remembered for her kindness and her willingness to help others. Survivors include four children, Silvestre Gomes and his wife Rose of Stratford, Aida Jorge and her husband Jaime of Trumbull, Maria Moura and her husband Max of Monroe and John Gomes and his wife Nancy of Shelton, a brother, Antonio Moura and his wife Teresa of Trumbull, ten grandchildren, Donna Patron and her husband John, Michael Gomes and his wife Maria, Rebecca Gomes, Jaime Jorge and his wife Liz, Lisa Ruff and her husband Richard, Maxine Walsh and her husband Thomas, Mark Moura and his wife Christina, Stephen Gomes and his wife Cristina, Emily Gomes and her fiance Ryan Ebner and David Gomes, twelve great grandchildren, John Luke Patron, Jessica Gomes, Tyler Jorge, Connor Jorge, Skylar Jorge, Jacob Walsh, Zachary Walsh, Luke Walsh, Alexa Ruff, Ryan Ruff, Christian Moura and Anthony Moura, a sister-in-law, Maria Moura of Florida as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by an infant daughter, Fatima Gomes, a brother, Silvestre Moura and a sister, Aida DeFonte. The family would like to thank Ludlowe Health Care for their exceptional care, especially over the last few days. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
