Obituary of Matthew Joseph D'Amato

Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather Matthew Joseph DAmato, age 73, of Trumbull, loving husband of Linda Lutters DAmato died on Sunday June 30, 2013. Born in Yonkers, NY on September 8, 1939 he was a son of the late Alfonso F. and Jennie Saltarelli DAmato. He was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and Curry College in Milton, MA and was a member of the Army Reserves for six years. Matthew was the owner and operator, for 32 years, of Nutmeg Marketing Company. He sold licensed products to his beloved N.Y. Yankees and many of his favorite teams. He was a member of the Tashua Knolls Senior Golf Club, a Tea Party Patriot and was President of Doberman Pinscher Club of the Tappan Zee. He was predeceased by a daughter, Loren Elizabeth DAmato and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Mead. In addition to his devoted wife of 46 years, Linda, survivors include a son, Allan DAmato and his wife Lisa of Trumbull, a daughter, Dana Nuzzo and her husband Frank of Newtown, six cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Anthony and Johnny DAmato and Alexandra, Carley and Christopher Nuzzo; two sisters, Philomena Mead and Joanne Brooks and her husband Tom, a sister-in-law Amy Lutters; nieces and nephews, Jeanne Mead and her son Lucas Johnson and Scott Mead and his wife Carmen. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday July 6, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
