Obituary of Maria F. Davis

Maria F. Davis, beloved and devoted wife of Donald G. Davis, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was surrounded by her husband and loving children, Lisa, Christopher and Mary Elizabeth, as well as a number of her closest and dearest friends. She died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Maria was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York before moving with her parents, Louis and Josephine Scalise and her younger brother Joseph to Atlantic Beach, New York. Maria attended and graduated from the University of Bridgeport, where she met her husband to be. She was married in 1965 when she moved to Connecticut. She raised her family first in Bridgeport and later in Trumbull. She owned and managed Family Haircut Store in Fairfield for 18 years starting in 1988. Maria was a parishioner of St. Theresas Catholic Church in Trumbull and a bible study participant at North Park Baptist Church on Park Avenue in Bridgeport. She is survived by her husband, children, daughter-in-law Bridget and granddaughter Morgan, as well as her brother. Maria was a loving servant of the Lord who was always ready to help anyone in need. She gave of herself tirelessly and brought light to any room she entered. She will be missed by all who came into her life and were blessed to be part of her journey through life. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
