Obituary of Mary DeDonato

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother Mary DeDonato, age 84, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Michael DeDonato passed away peacefully on Saturday November 23, 2013 at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Hospital in Manhattan, with her loving family by her side. Born on June 19, 1929 in Germantown, New York, she was a daughter of the late Ignacy and Helen Czujak Zawadski. Mary was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who devoted her life to caring for and helping others. She will be remembered for her strong giving spirit, finding joy in her kitchen as an amazing cook and baker for her family. Mrs. DeDonato worked in the medical records department at Bridgeport Hospital for several years before her retirement. Because her Catholic faith was so important to her, she was a member of the Madonna Guild and the Mothers' Circle of St. Ambrose Church. She was also very active with the Trumbull Senior Center. Mary will indeed be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her devoted husband of 63 years, Michael, other survivors include her loving children, Nancy DeDonato Jones, of Trumbull and Dr. Donald DeDonato and his wife Susan of Illinois, four cherished grandchildren, Robert and Christina Jones, Mark DeDonato and his wife Sarah and David DeDonato, one adored great granddaughter, Olivia DeDonato; three brothers, Alfred Zawadski of Oxford, Paul Zawadski of Milford and Peter Zawadski of California, a sister, Patricia Coleson of Texas, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Chester and Felix Zawadski and two sisters, Eleanor Garnier and Connie Plude. Funeral Information Friends may greet the family on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial Funeral will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11 am in St. Teresa's Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull.
