Obituary of Terrence P. DiFrancesco
Terrence P. DiFrancesco, 53, of Hamden, loving husband of Jeannie Zumbo DiFrancesco, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born February 17, 1958, in Peekskill, N.Y., Terry was the son of Vincent and Elizabeth (Fisher) DiFrancesco of Fishkill, NY. He most recently worked as a math teacher at Sawyer Business School in Hamden. Terry was a 1976 graduate of John Jay High School in East Fishkill, N.Y., and received a BA degree in education and anthropology from SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, N.Y., in 1981. In addition to his devoted wife, Jeannie and parents, Terry is survived by a stepson, Eric Gustitus, of Hamden; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Irizarry, of New Haven; four grandchildren, Eric Gustitus Jr. and Vanessa, Dylan and Kameron Irizarry; three sisters, Dina and her husband David Curran of Eden Prairie, Minn., Bridget Tracy of Fishkill, N.Y.; and Mia and her husband George Licata of Lagrange, N.Y.; his mother-in-law, Mary Zumbo of Shelton, four nephews, Eric and Kyle Tracy and Cory and Kent Curran, and one niece, Francesca Curran. An avid fan of the New York Mets and New York Rangers, Terrys broad smile and hearty hugs brought soothing warmth to the hearts of the many whose lives he touched and his loving spirit will live on in those fortunate enough to have known him. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
