Obituary of Antoinette DiMartino

Beloved Aunt Antoinette DiMartino, age 94, of Stratford and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St. Vincents Medical Center with her family by her side. Born on August 18, 1919 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Rosario and Concetta Millemacci DiMartino. She had attended the University of Bridgeport, where she had received her teaching degree specializing in Reading. Antoinette was later employed by the City of Bridgeport Board of Education, where she had taught for many years before her retirement. She was proud to have been inducted into Delta Kappa Gamma, which is an international society for key women educators. She was also a member of the Greater Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association, the Ladies Trinacria Society and the St. Theresa Guild. She had also volunteered at the gift shop at St. Vincents Medical Center for many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Millie and John Donnangolo and a brother, Thomas DiMartino. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Rose Dimartino of Westport and cherished nieces and nephews, John Donnangolo of Prospect, Maria Wardwell of Welsley, MA, Thomas R. DiMartino of Trumbull and Anne Gilbertie of Middlebury. She is also survived by several additional great nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
