Obituary of Catherine M. DiQuattro

Catherine Marie DiQuattro, age 83, of Shelton, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Irvington, NJ on September 21, 1930, she was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Katie Lundgren. Marie was an incredibly spirited and independent woman. She was passionate about the things she loved the most: her family, her faith, gardening, tag sales and politics. She was often heard on the radio in deep discussion on WICC's Jim Buchanan Show where she became a local celebrity. She also loved volunteering at the church's thrift shop (partially to get the good stuff first!). She was so loved by all those whose lives she touched: always smiling, singing and laughing. Marie had an infectious laugh. "And it is the laughter, we will remember, whenever we remember" Catherine Marie DiQuattro. She will be sadly missed by her children: Cathy DiQuattro Kroopf and her husband Thomas of Corona del Mar, CA, Kim DiQuattro of Kew Gardens, NY, Paolo DiQuattro and his wife Paula of Salt Lake City, UT, a brother, Robert Lundgren and his wife Olga, three sisters: Betty Debes and her husband Joseph, Joan Shiels and her husband Jackie and June Lundgren all of New York, eight grandchildren: Bradley and Jonathan Kroopf, Michael Navarrette, Salvatore (Tore), Corinne Danielle, Corrado Justin, Nathaniel and Mikayla Marie DiQuattro, as well as her former husband, Salvatore DiQuattro and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Edward DiQuattro and two brothers, Paul and William Lundgren.
