Obituary of Helen C. Duch

Helen Catherine Zmijewski Duch, age 96, beloved wife of the late William E. Duch II, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 surrounded by her family at St. Vincents Medical Center. Mrs. Duch was born in Bridgeport on May 15, 1915, the daughter of the late Catherine and John Zmijewski, was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Many will fondly remember her for her kindness, generosity, and making one feel special by celebrating birthdays and events. She was employed at Dupont/Remington Arms for over 30 years. Mrs. Duch is survived by her sisters, Josephine Zavatsky and her late husband, John of Bridgeport and Dorothy Bepko and her husband, Frank of Virginia; two daughters, Patricia Petitti and her husband, Gary of Milford and Barbara Thatcher of California; two sons, William Emil Duch, III and John Raymond Duch of Huntington; five grandsons, Charles DeFranco, Nicholas Thatcher, Justin Thatcher, Brad Petitti and Maxwell Thatcher; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by brothers, John A. Zmijewski, Frank Zmijewski, Felix Zmijewski, Chester Zmijewski, Stanley Kwiatkowski and sisters, Rose Swaniger and Marion Kovats. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at 9:00 A.M. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 A.M. in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M.
