Obituary of Marie V. Attianese

Marie V. Santiana Attianese, age 90, of Bridgeport, a retired registered nurse, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on October 30, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Nettie Gamarino Santiana, Sr. A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, she was a graduate of St. Vincent School of Nursing and worked for both St. Vincent Medical Center and the Veterans Hospital in Rocky Hill. She was formerly active at St. Joseph School and Church of Bridgeport.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Salvatore L. Attianese, a son, David J. Attianese and his wife, Marilyn of Alexandria, Virginia, two daughters, Valerie Giarratano and her husband, Michael of Newtown and Annette Attianese and her partner Norman Tauchin of Federal Way, Washington, a brother, William Santiana of Lake Worth, Florida, five grandchildren, Suzanne McCombs, Stephen Attianese, Lisa Irving, Michael Giarratano and Paul Giarratano, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Joseph F. Santoiana, Jr. and Albert Santiana, Sr. 

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport on Monday, January 10, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. At the request of the family there are no calling hours and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Merton House, 43 Madison Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604.
