Obituary of Gino A. Berarducci

Gino A. Berarducci, age 92, of Bridgeport passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sophie Szymborski Berarducci. Born in Bridgeport on February 17, 1922, he was a son of the late Pasquale and Domenica Pansa Berarducci. A 1941 graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport, Mr. Berarducci was also proud to have been a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Gino had been employed by E & F Construction, formerly of Bridgeport before his long, dedicated tenure of 36 years as a foreman at Sikorsky Aircraft. He was an avid golfer and bowler and could often be found tending to his garden. He was also a huge fan of the UConn women's basketball team, New York Mets and Washington Redskins. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife of 63 years, Sophie, other survivors include his son, Thomas G. Berarducci and his wife Patricia of North Haven, a daughter, Diane Amato and her husband Edward of West Haven, four cherished grandchildren, Laurie and Amy Berarducci and Gina and Edward Amato, Jr. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gino had been predeceased by his six brothers and sisters, Dominick, Antoinette, Albert, Katherine, Vincent (Jimmy) and Alfred. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
