Obituary of Richard A. Piccirillo Sr.

Richard (Ricky) Piccirillo, Sr., passed away peacefully on May 5, 2014 at the age of 59 surrounded by everyone he loved. Ricky was owner/operator of the Arctic Sports Shop and most recently worked for AL-Lynn Associates in Shelton. He was an avid sports fan who could always be found in the stands at his boy's sporting events or coaching from the sidelines or dugouts. Ricky had a zest for life which was evident in his wise cracking remarks, huge smile and sparkle in his blue eyes. The greatest joy of his life was his family. He was especially proud of his sons Rick and Nick. Besides his sons and wife Loretta, he leaves behind his father Frank Piccirillo; sisters, brothers, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws: Fran and Mark Smith, Carole and Chris Lemoult, Mark and Nancy Piccirillo, Bobby Piccirillo, Janet Piccirillo, Michael and April Piccirillo, Michael and Gail Frascatore, Nancy and Sal Devito and Mary Frascatore as well as several nieces, nephews (especially his nephew and third son-Jeremy Lemoult), great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many good friends. He will join in heaven his mother Kathy Piccirillo, brother Billy Piccirillo, mother/father-in-law Mary and Michael Frascatore, brother/sister-in-law Ralph and Stella Frascatore, aunts Marietta and Edith Frascatore, and aunt/uncle Peg and Bill Devore. We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, aides and support staff at St. Vincent's Hospital, The Carolton Chronic Convalescent Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital Vitas Hospice Unit for all their loving care of Ricky. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Swim Across the Sound, c/o St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport, CT 06606.
