Obituary of Anna Zaccaria

Ann Piccirillo Zaccaria, age 98 of Madison and Simsbury, beloved wife of the late Alfonso Zaccaria, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on July 21, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Jenny Piccirillo. Before her retirement, Ann was a nurse at Bridgeport Hospital and later worked as a private duty nurse. Survivors include three beloved children, Alfonso Zaccaria Jr. (Bonnie) of Ormond Beach, FL, Roseann Podrasky (William) of Simsbury, CT, Jean Gerrity (Tom Marone) of Madison, CT, fourteen grandchildren: Linda Clarke (Derek), Karen Depray (Robert), Diane Podrasky (Gary), William Podrasky (Amy), Laura Kelleher (Jim), Pamela Kadamus (David), Jamison Gerrity, Leonard Zaccaria (Elizabeth), David Zaccaria (Donna), Sean Zaccaria (Rachel), Amy Martino (Nino), Joanne Gaidosz (John), Patricia Mazzadra, Chris Mazzadra and 20 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Leonard Zaccaria, a daughter, Eleanor Roballey, two granddaughters, Linda Mazzadra and Melissa Gerrity, one great granddaughter, Aja Gerrity, four brothers, Nicholas, Frank, John and William Piccirillo and three sisters, Florence Plofkin, Mildred O’Neill and Katie Sagliano. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. James Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
