Obituary of Helen Savitsky

Helen Risko Savitsky, age 95, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Walter Savitsky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Born in Bridgeport on February 27, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Sekol Risko. Helen was an employee for the Town of Trumbull School System with over 20 years of dedicated service. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was dedicated to the care and love of her family. She enjoyed the simple things in life, especially time sitting in her yard enjoying the sun. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, AndrewJude M. Torre. Survivors include three loving children, Daniel Savitsky and his wife Carolyn of Redding, Lynda Mautz and her husband John of Florida and Deborah Torre of Trumbull; four cherished grandchildren, David Savitsky and his wife Kate, Karin Fitzgerald and her husband Adam, Natasha Torre and AndrewJude Torre; six adored great grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Parker, Beatrix, Owen and Nicolena. Friends can greet the family on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A prayer service will take place on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
