Obituary of Rosemary A. Ferrara

Rosemary Ann Ferrara, aged 70, of Bridgeport, Connecticut died peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family early on May 21st 2014. Rosemary was born on October 7th 1943 in Portchester, NY to Joseph and Mary Ferrara. She graduated from the Academy of the Resurrection in Rye, NY in 1961. 'Ro' graduated from New York Foundling Hospital in 'Infant Care' in 1962. Rosemary went on to become Chief Financial Officer at Donald Art Company until 1993, and then later worked as a comptroller at Airtech in Stamford CT until her retirement in 2006. Rosemary is survived by Katherine Keane, her beloved partner of 30 years, her mother, Mary Ambruso Ferrara of Bridgeport, two brothers, John Ferrara and his wife Paula of Westbrook and Thomas Ferrara of Derby, two sisters, Marilyn Mlynek of Bridgeport and Dolores Hanrahan and her husband Keith of Trumbull, nieces and nephews, Richard Mlynek, Laurin Brenner and her husband John, Tim Mlynek and his wife Becky, Kathleen Harrocks and her husband Chris, Kevin Hanrahan and his wife Katie, Kris Hanrahan, Jonathan Ferrara, Jessica Stiefel, Anthony Ferrara, Andrew Ferrara, Kerry Mis and her husband Jason, John Keane and Molly Keane-Dreyer as well as her many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Ferrara and her brother in-law Richard W. Mlynek. Rosemary was honest, strong-willed, generous, and loved spending time with her family. She was a constant reminder of the power of family togetherness. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. During her long illness, Rosemary's attitude remained positive and optimistic. Her positive outlook was an inspiration to all who knew her.
