Obituary of Teresa Ward

Teresa Scicutello Ward, age 94, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late John D. Ward, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Maefair Health Care Center, where she was cared for with love, dignity, and respect for over fifteen years. Born in New York City, NY on March 14, 1920, she was a daughter of the late James and Angelina Pepe Scicutello. Teresa was a retired employee of the United States Postal Service for many years before her retirement. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cared for and loved her family deeply. She enjoyed being together with all of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Teresa will truly be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include two loving daughters, Mary Ann Smith and her husband Walter of East Meadow, New York and Denise Culhane and her husband John of Monroe, four cherished grandchildren, Deborah Zaso and her husband John, John Culhane Jr. and his wife Jen, Christopher Culhane and his wife Taylor and Terri Marie Culhane and her fiancé Sean Albuquerque; two adored great grandchildren, Jennifer and Laura Zaso, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Scicutello. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 directly in Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
