Obituary of Herbert F. Walker

Herbert "Mickey" Walker, age 80, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Mary Jane Marinaccio Walker, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Maefair Health Care Center. Born in Waterbury on March 9, 1934, he was a son of the late Herbert and Marguerite Dooley Walker and a graduate of Harding High School. A U. S. Army Veteran, Mr. Walker was a salesman for many years for National Cash Register and the Jay Corporation. He was an accomplished local area musician, playing the Trombone in the Army Band, the Paul King Band and with the Jazz Giants at the Newport Jazz Festival. Mickey was a gourmet and an adventurous cook who enjoyed sharing his newest creations with family and friends. He was a great story teller with an extraordinary sense of humor. His family was his life and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Criscuolo and Greg D'Agostino Jr. of Stratford and Cheryl Ciambriello and her husband Drew of Trumbull, seven grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Ryan and Alexa Criscuolo, Brittany Ciambriello and Anthony Leo, Julia and Michael Ciambriello, a great grandson, Anthony Leo, son-in-law, Joseph Criscuolo of Trumbull, brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Rose Marinaccio of Trumbull, Leonard and Loretta Marinaccio of West Haven and Lucille and Albert DePeano of Trumbull as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Marilyn LaSalle, sister-in-law, Antoinette Capalbo and brother-in-law, Joseph Capalbo. The family would like to thank the staff of the 3rd Floor at Maefair Health Care Center and the 6th floor staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center for their compassionate care. Funeral services with military honors will take place on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
