Obituary of Antonio Pinto Albuquerque

Antonio Pinto Albuquerque, age 82, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Olga Antunes Albuquerque, died peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Astoria Park Health Care surrounded by his loving family. Born in Esmolfe, Penalva do Castelo, Portugal on October 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Emidio Albuquerque Pinto and Laura DeJesus Pinto. A veteran of the Portuguese Army, Antonio came to the United States in 1970 to provide a better life for his family. He was a retired machine operator at Handy and Harman with over 25 years of dedicated service. He also was a mechanic in Portugal and enjoyed working on cars, especially for his family. He was also a member of the Vasco da Gama Club, Bridgeport. Antonio was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who will be deeply missed. Survivors include two loving children, Elsa Lage and her husband Fernando and Alvaro Albuquerque, all of Bridgeport, four cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Alexis and Tiana and two adored great grandchildren, Justin and Isabella. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sisters and brothers, Maria Santos, Herminio Pinto and his wife Lucinda, all of Bridgeport, Alfredo Pinto of Stratford, Luzita Lopes of Fairfield, Alexandre Pinto and his wife Cecilia of Rhode Island and Olivia Lagos of Lisbon, Portugal and as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Laura Pinto Albuquerque and Nazare Pinto, brothers-in-law, Cipriano Santos and Alvaro Lopes, sister-in-law, Maria Pinto, nephews, Alfredo Albuquerque Sr., Marco Ventura and Jason Ribeiro. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Cathedral, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
