Dear Aunt Peg, Lisa, Jean and Krissy,
I'm so sad to hear about Uncle Babe. He was always one of my favorites. I have such happy childhood memories of coming to your house to play and swim in your pool and see Paco too. We had lots of boating fun with Uncle Babe and Bopa Tom. Uncle Babe was always happy and made everyone feel like part of the family. It is so hard to say good bye - but trust he is resting comfortably in the arms of God. Sending all of you my love and prayers. I hope we can get back in touch and maybe catch up when you come to FL or when I come to CT. My email is mebabydee@msn.com.
God Bless,
Diana (Kathleen, Matty, Michael and Bob) Murphy

Hello.
Babe worked with myself and my partner, Spencer, on several home renovations in New Haven. Babe was a dear, generous, and reliable person and I was always happy to see him sitting there with his cigar overseeing the work. He will be missed.

Babe was a great man whose legacy is his beautiful family and the memories of friends like me. I was a newcomer to Stratford, arriving in 1956 when my father retired from the Navy. Luckily, I played (at) football, so had guys like Luch Mastroni, Pete Farrell, Jerry Nolan, Bob Zima, Tommy Robbins and others as friends. I remember stopping at Babe's house in Stratford and his mother always insisting that we eat some pasta and homemade meatballs. I remember winter days spent playing hockey on the frozen ponds, but especially the football seasons, where Babe excelled as our quarterback and team leader. He and Peggy were always the couple to admire - how could such a soft-spoken guy connect with this beautiful blonde?
I loved this guy and consider him the best friend I ever had. He's probably up there laughing at all this hoopla about him. A true gentle man - I am so grateful to Peggy for letting me know of his passing.. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
