Obituary of Charles L. DeSiena

Attorney Charles Louis DeSiena, 81, of Palm City, FL, formerly of Norwalk, CT, passed away on August 5, 2014 in Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, FL due to complications from pneumonia. He was born on March 1, 1933 in Bridgeport, CT to Charles and Philomena (May) Capozziello DeSiena. Charles attended Bridgeport schools and was offered the opportunity to attend Fairfield Prep. While there at the age of 15, he realized that he would pursue a career in law. He continued his fine Jesuit education at Fairfield University and the Fordham University School of Law, graduating in 1957. He was associated with the law firm of DeSiena, Guman and DelPercio in Bridgeport and retired in 2004 from the law firm of DeSiena and Gallucci in Fairfield, CT. His life was centered on his faith, his family, friends and country. A man of great style, he exuded a warm welcome, kindness and respect to all he met. Charles was past director of the Bridgeport Jaycees, Junior Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Bridgeport Area TB Association, past president of Unico National, Bridgeport Chapter, and past president of Mill River Country Club in Stratford, CT where he enjoyed many rounds of golf and many hands of cards. He was a member of the Bridgeport Bar Association, American Bar Association, CT Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association and the CT Trial Lawyers Association. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Laurita Symington DeSiena, his former wife, Rosemarie Perrett DeSiena of Fairfield, his sister, Rose Ciesluk of Trumbull, his children, Darlene DeSiena of Fairfield, CT, Charlene (Ken) Nixon of Trumbull, CT, Charles B. (Andrea Mozur) DeSiena of So. Windsor, CT, Brian (Lauren) DeSiena of West Haven, CT and Louis (Kathy) DeSiena of Jacksonville, FL, his stepson, Dr. Michael (Marcie) Ferraro of Stuart, FL; grandchildren, Christopher DeSiena, Jordan, Jessica and Joey DeSiena, Tiffany and Kayla Nixon and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his sisters Eleanor DelPercio and Doris Brideau. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
