Obituary of Frank J. Mastroni

Frank J. Mastroni Jr., age 65, of Monroe, beloved husband of the late Donna Ontko Mastroni, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in Connecticut Hospice. Born in Bridgeport on October 21, 1948, he was a son of the late Frank J. Sr. and Dorothy Grela Mastroni and was a longtime Trumbull resident. Frank graduated from Trumbull High School in 1965. Along with his wife, Frank was the owner and operator of Five Star Motors in Devon for many years. He worked for Mastroni Excavating before retiring from the Diocese of Bridgeport as manager at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Frank supported foster children overseas and had a great love for animals. Survivors include his stepmother, Ruby Mastroni of Easton, a sister, Bette DiNardo and her companion Robert Peslak of Stratford, two brothers, James Mastroni of Easton and Robert Mastroni of Monroe, an aunt, Carmella Procaccini of Trumbull as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
