Obituary of Nellie M. Lolatte

Nellie M. Buccino Lolatte "Miss Nell", age 102, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Sam Lolatte, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Maefair Health Care Center. Born in New York City on October 26, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Aniello and Marie Gervase Buccino. Known as "Miss Nell" in the hairdressing industry, she was proud to have worked at Leon's Institute of Hair Design for 50 years, having retired as the Dean. She was very proud to have taught many of the area beauticians. She was also a member of the former Italian Community Center. But above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed. Survivors include her devoted daughter, Elaine Pieger and her companion Lawrence LaConte Sr., of Bridgeport, five grandchildren, George Pieger III of Stratford, Marc Pieger and his companion Teresa Capuzziello of Shelton, Glen Pieger and his fiance Lori Bishop of Bridgeport, Dana Pieger Lambert and her fiancé James Monaco of Trumbull and Sandy Pieger Troesser of Shelton, six great grandchildren, Timothy J. Lambert, Samuel J. Lambert, Marco Pieger, Abigail, Emma and Madison Troesser as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, George E. Pieger Jr., her brothers, Dominick, Anthony and Rafael Buccino and sisters, Jennie Buccino and Rose Boos. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
