Obituary of Denise M. Mozzi

Denise M. Dolhen Mozzi, age 89, of Trumbull, was welcomed into the loving arms of The Lord on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Paul U. Mozzi. Born in Liege, Belgium on July 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Charles Joseph and Jeanne Marie Saive Dolhen. Denise worked as a bookkeeper for Bresky and Sons for many years before retiring at the age of 86. She also worked alongside her husband who co-owned the French Baking Company in Stratford. Denise was extremely proud of her Belgian heritage and enjoyed traveling with her husband to Belgium yearly. She had a strong Catholic faith and was a longtime parishioner of St. Theresa Church in Trumbull. She was a member of the Trumbull Garden Club and found great enjoyment in the art of flower arranging. She was a lifelong dog lover and supporter of the Humane Society. Denise also enjoyed playing Pinochle with her family and friends, dancing, entertaining and throwing dinner parties. In addition to her husband Paul of nearly 69 years, survivors include her three loving children, John Mozzi of Trumbull, Nadine Mozzi Behmke and her husband Brian of Stratford and Paul C. Mozzi and his wife Kelly of Nashville, TN and three cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Justin Behmke and Lily Mozzi. Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
