Obituary of Deolinda R. Dias

Deolinda R. Dias, age 92, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Manuel G. Dias, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Ludlowe Health Center, Fairfield. Born in Torgeda, Montalegre, Portgual on October 27, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Domingos and Virginia Rua Gomes. Before her retirement she was a machine operator for J.B. Lyon. Survivors include two daughters, Deolinda Pereira of Chaves Portugal, Maria Santos and her husband Jorge of Bridgeport, who were her dedicated caregivers, five grandchildren, Lena Abrams, Paula Teixeira, Dulce Vieira, Paul Santos and his wife Nicole and Jaime Santos, three sisters, Josefina Fonseca of Fairfield, Maria Amaro of Bridgeport, Palmira Goncalves of Trumbull, and seven additional brothers and sisters in Portugal and Brazil, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joao DaSilva and Jose Rua, and a sister, Anna DaSilva. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 1:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home.
