Obituary of Giuseppina Giacobbe

Giuseppina Silano Giacobbe, age 91, of Bridgeport, a homemaker, died on Monday, December 22, 2014 in Ludlowe Health Center. Born in Flumeri, Province of Avellino, Italy on March 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Maria Silano. She was predeceased by a son, John Giacobbe and two sisters, Carmela Giacobbe and Angela Tarantino. Josephine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed dearly by all. She was famous for her wine and pizzelle cookies which she generously served to her family, friends and neighbors. Survivors include her beloved husband of 68 years, Joseph Giacobbe Sr., two daughters, Phyllis Framularo and her husband Charles of Newtown and Mary Autuori and her husband Tony of Trumbull, her son, Joseph Giacobbe, Jr. and his wife Julie of Trumbull, her brother Peter Silano of Florida, two sisters, Angie Ranucci of Bridgeport and Rose Feola of Florida, grandchildren, Charles, Carla, Anthony, Laura, Alicia, Joseph and Joy, great grandchildren, Sasha Quinn, Sara Rose, Luca Jameson, Christiano and Emma Rose as well as several nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
